Art Meets Design
Brief: To create a self-promotional package for use in a competitive job market without the inclusion of projects and work, like with a standard portfolio. It should demonstrate the individual’s skills, personal strengths and unique qualities. It should also be targeted to a specific market.
Solution: I chose to create a piece that highlights my past education and love for art and art history, as it is an aspect that I find to be both unique and useful to my design process. This notion is expressed visually through my concept, “The Intersection of Art and Design”. Abstracted road maps are used throughout the booklet, together with the location symbol, with the conventional word “you” replaced with “I” in order to further this concept.
Various paintings, designs and art work that I find both important to graphic design and personally inspiring are included throughout the book. These pages double as envelopes, containing individual information cards on each image.
